Discover scuba dives with manta rays. In January!

The wind blows from the east and it almost feels like summer in Ishigaki island (≧▽≦) There was a little bit of swell but we could depart from Kabira beach and go diving at Yonehara and Manta point☆ Both of them have very beautiful coral gardens(*^▽^*) Below is Yonehara♪

And this is at Manta scramble☆ Lots of small table corals growing up\(^o^)/

Today’s guest did her first dives with us! I was surprised by her good buoyancy(≧▽≦) We all floated smoothly over the corals♪♪

Lots of sea goldies♪

We also saw a Manta ray at Manta scramble☆ This time we had to wait over 20min before it appeared, but then it stayed and circled around(*^▽^*)

It was still circling the cleaning station as we had to go up before our air ran out(;´・ω・)

The weather forecast looks good for tomorrow too(^O^) We’ll be diving in Kabira again☆

Last chance to see manta rays this year?!

We woke up to a sunny Ishigaki this morning(≧▽≦) With three discover scuba divers onboard we went diving at Osaki and Manta Scramble☆
The drive out to Manta scramble went smooth but, as we came up after the second dive, the wind had turned north and was picking up strength…
Below, a photo from the dive briefing this sunny morning(`・ω・´)

Two of three divers did their very first dives, they swam very well♪♪

On the first dive, the green sea turtles came to greet them☆ They always look too content on the rocks(≧▽≦)

We approached slowly and took a photo together(≧▽≦)

For second dive, off to Manta point! It might be the last chance to meet them this year I thought as we swam over to the cleaning station and there they were♪ One manta was circling the cleaning station the whole time☆ We saw a total of four different individuals(≧▽≦)

It was a very lucky day to go diving on♪w

The corals were also doing well I noticed as we swam over them☆

From tomorrow, the weather is supposed to start turning over to winter again(;´・ω・)

Did some discover scuba dives this morning before the sea got too rough!

The wind has suddenly gotten stronger again in Ishigaki, however, the sea was calmer than expected this morning(≧▽≦)
Today’s guest had been diving with us two times before♪ He swam very well☆ We even floated over the corals\(^o^)/

In Osaki, we met the resident green sea turtles♪

This one was very relaxed and we could take a photo together!

In Nagura, we enjoyed the coral garden(^O^)

Look at the red eyes against the green! It’s an anemone partner shrimp ♪

A young tomato anemonefish☆ The look so cute when young but will often protect their anemone aggressively when they get older(;^ω^)

Tomorrow we’re doing a refresher course♪ The wind is blowing strong outside… I hope tomorrow will also be calmer than expected(;^ω^)

Relaxing discover scuba dives

The north wind keeps blowing strong over Ishigaki island(;´・ω・) however, it’s still quite warm☆ We went out to Osaki area for discover scuba dives today♪ We had two guests from Hong Kong that did their very first dives, they both swam so well!♪♪

Batfishes♪

Of course, we also met one of the resident sea turtles of Osaki(≧▽≦)

We also swam by some tiny anemonefishes♪

In the shallow area, we saw many beautiful corals☆

Today, the sun warmed us on the boat between the dives but it looks like it will be cloudier tomorrow(;・∀・)

Stormy above, calm below

Very strong north wind today in Ishigaki island(;・∀・) We went for discover scuba dives in Ishigaki’s Osaki and Nagura area☆

In Osaki, the visibility was less than usual but the Green sea turtles didn’t care and were sleeping on top of their usual rocks(`・ω・´) We also saw a Hawksbill sea turtleた☆ I didn’t manage to take a picture of it this time(;´・ω・)

A Banded seasnake with its head in the sand and tail up in the air… the water I meanww

We also swam by this deep blue flatworm!

The corals were also looking well!! They have been growing so much that I think they will reach all the way the surface when it’s low tide(≧▽≦)

Tomorrow, it will be a little bit less windy(;^ω^) I like it best underwater♪♪
