Great day for family snorkeling

I can’t believe it’s already March☆ It was really hot today in Ishigaki Island, it almost felt like summer! (≧∀≦) We went out snorkeling with this lovely family♪

Ready to go (*^▽^*)

Swimming like fishes! Even the youngest one had strong power in his fin kicks as he held onto the float for extra support☆

A cuttlefish! ・:*+.\(( °ω° ))/.:+
There still aren’t that many of them around, I hope they will gather in greater numbers soon.

Very good visibility today and we could clearly see all the beautiful corals from above ☆*:.。. o(≧▽≦)o .。.:*☆

Here’s the whole family in action♪ Perfect day on the ocean!

Blank sea, great day to go diving

Mornings and evenings are still cold in Ishigaki but it quickly gets warm when the sun is up (≧∀≦) Flat sea today again♪

Yonehara coral garden☆ There is nothing that soothe the heart quite like an ocean stroll・:*+.\(( °ω° ))/.:+

A short drive away the corals looks very different♪

A green sea turtle with a big tail (*^▽^*)

This nudibranch moves a lot quicker than you would expectσ(^_^;) In a blink it moves away, but luckily it moves a lot which makes it easy to spot.

North winds again tomorrow・・・( ̄◇ ̄;) I hope it won’t get too cold

Manta rays on today’s dive

The wind blows from the south over Ishigaki island (≧∀≦) We went out for fun dives♪A calm day on the ocean☆ We could even go to Manta point! And we saw manta rays*・゜゚・*:.。..。.:*・'(*゚▽゚*)’・*:.。. .。.:*・゜゚・* One of them was very big♡

The corals at this dive point are growing steadily☆ Year by year, they build a beautiful underwater garden.

A green sea turtle was relaxing on a bed of soft corals(*^▽^*)

The ocean will be calm tomorrow again! Looking forward to diving at Yonehara, it’s been a long time since I went there.

However, looks like the wind will turn to north again on the day after so I have to drive the boat back to Sakieda again σ(^_^;)

Fixing the boat

Our boat “Viking” got a remake!
The floor cover needed fixing and it turned out to be a bit more than a surface job so we got a brand new floor (‘◉⌓◉’)

There was no space for us inside so we got some blue plastic sheets to keep dry.

It was a lot of work but look how beautiful she is now ☆*:.。. o(≧▽≦)o .。.:*☆
I hope I can keep driving “Viking” for many more years!

Let’s hope the coronavirus situation gets better soon! You must come and see her (*^▽^*)

Diving with lots of giant cuttlefish

The wind around Ishigaki island has picked up compared to yesterdayΣ(‘◉⌓◉’) Today, the sun was shining and I thought it was fairly warm but our guest got very cold! (><) We saw five giant cuttlefish. It’s still early in the season and they haven’t started laying eggs yet so they are still shy around divers. I hope we can see lots of them this year.

An ornate pipefish♫ Finding creatures like this is the best part of diving(*^▽^*)

A vivid blue frost nudibranch ☆

A tiny anemone shrip. I found it in a big thriving anemone so I hope it will grow up and become much bigger♪

An electric clam blinked back as I shone the flashlight onto it. I wonder why they do that. Is there something else besides divers’ lights that shine on them down under? σ(^_^;)

Corals in Osaki☆ Like a big forest, but under the ocean (≧∀≦)

As I write this I can already hear the north wind howling again Σ(‘◉⌓◉’) It will get cold tonight! Take care everyone, I hope we will get more sun again soon ^^
