First Dives, Challenging but Fun

Another typhoon has formed, it doesn’t look big but its heading for Ishigaki island(゚Д゚;)
Today we had three discover scuba divers onboard☆ Everybody did their very first dives☆☆ and everybody managed to get underwater and dived smoothly(≧▽≦)

We first went to Yamabare to look for the turtles, but they weren’t there today(/ω\)

We saw lots of different fishes and took pictures with the Anemone fishes♪

For the second dive, we headed to Manta point… but no Manta rays today(;^ω^)

Tomorrow we’ll make preparations for the typhoon(;・∀・)

Two Days of Fun Dives in Ishigaki

The wind has finally started to calm down in Ishigaki island but there are still some swell left. Yesterday afternoon, we got our boat towed to the marina. Thanks friends! (^O^) I hope we can get it fixed soon(; ・`д・´)
These two days we’ve been diving in Arakawa area, Yonehara and Manta point♪♪ The visibility is on top(≧▽≦) We watched the Sea goldies swim around like small colorful dots in the ocean♡

Yesterday, we saw Manta rays at manta scramble\(^o^)/ However, no luck at manta city today(/ω\) Recently we’ve seen them quite often so I hope they will be around tomorrow again(;^ω^)

We could se lots of small fishes swimming in and out of the corals in the blue, clear water♪

A little swim through\(^o^)/

A White-mouth moray♪♪ We see them quite often here!

And a big Honey comb moray♪

More diving tomorrow♪ Looking forward to relaxing time under the sea☆

While the Manta Ray was Circling Round and Round…

The typhoon has cleared but the wind keeps changing direction in Ishigaki island(;^ω^) This is log from two days of fun dives! (≧▽≦) The visibility has been very good☆
Today, we got a real treat! A big Manta ray was circling round and round the cleaning station☆☆ At that time, my camera stubbornly said “card error” during the whole dive(゚Д゚;) Couldn’t take a single picture…(;^ω^)

On the boat, I took out and put in the card again and it worked fine on our third dive with the Green turtles(^O^)

A Leafy Scorpionfish☆

A Robust Ghostpipefish♪

But among all the things we saw this is my faovorite♡ Can you spot the  Lambrachaeus ramifer crab? (*^▽^*)

A Brown-banded pipefish♪

A small Anemone partner shrimp☆ There are not so many shrimps in this Anemone so I’m happy they’re still here after the typhoon(^O^)

A tiny Bubble coral shrimp☆☆

Looking forward to more dives tomorrow♪

Fun Dives Before the Typhoon

Typhoon nr. 9 is approaching Ishigaki island and the boat engine is broken. Not a good time for us at Viking Scuba(;´・ω・)
However, we joined my Senpai’s boat and went diving today too! First dive at Yamabare and second at Manta point(≧▽≦) We saw both Manta rays and Green turtles today☆☆

Corals in Yamabare(*^▽^*) The don’t mind the typhoon at all!

We saw many different critters here♪♪ Like this Lobster☆ It hid away in a hole but was easily discovered from the long feelers sticking out(;・∀・)

Many different animals live inside Anemones. Below, an Anemone crab♪

A tiny Tomato Aneomonefish♪ The vivid colors makes good photos♪

From tomorrow, we will start preparations for the typhoon. It looks like the first big one for this year( ・`д・´)

No Manta Rays, but we Enjoyed Landscape Dives and Saw Many Small Critters

The sun is shining bright and hot all over Japan and Ishigaki(≧▽≦) We had a group of divers joining us from Hong Kong the last few days☆ We’ve been to Yonehara area, Arakawa area and Manta point♪ At the Arakawa swim-throughs, there were so many Glass fishes inside(`・ω・´)

Another landscape point in Kabira area♪♪

A young Midnight Snapper♪Now, it has a unique pattern and long fins, but when it becomes an adult… it will just be another grey fish in the ocean(;^ω^)

An Anemone partner shrimp.

We also saw this tiny Nudibranch make its way across the ocean floorす☆

It’s almost August already! I hope the Manta rays will start showing up more frequently(;^ω^)
Tomorrow we’re off for discover scuba dives☆
