Back to Manta Point

A south wind is blowing and we had another warm day in Ishigaki island☆
Because of the unusually fine weather we could head out to Manta point today(≧▽≦)
We went to both Manta city and Manta scramble! There, we saw many different kinds of Anemone fishes. Below is a Pink Anemonefish♪

We also enjoyed swimming through the landscape(^O^)

However, the main attraction refused to show up today(/ω\) No mantas to be seen on both sites…

Even though we couldn’t see the mantas, I’m happy we tried! Sometimes nature is like this(;^ω^)

Fun Dives in Osaki Area

South wind! It’s warm on Ishigaki island today(≧▽≦)
The air temperature was over 25°C in daytime and we went out for some good dives in this great weather☆
The corals were somehow looking more energetic than usual in the light(;・∀・)

We saw a Manta ray just below the surface in Osaki! We went looking for it on the dive but couldn’t find it(/ω\) However, we saw many other things♪ Like this Green turtle☆☆

A Pipehorse stretching out♪ So tiny!(*’ω’*)

This pair of Blue-striped pipehorses were hiding between the rocks♪♪

A Banded seasnake stuck it’s head in a hole and for a while it looked stuck(;・∀・)

A Squat shrimp♪♪

An Anemone shrimp♪

Those colors(*’ω’*)

An egg laying Nudibranch(≧▽≦)

A swirling Nudibranch☆

Flatworm♪

Tomorrow, I hope we can head out to Manta point☆

Lots of Giant Cuttlefishes

Another day with sunny sky in Ishigaki island♪ On days like this the winter doesn’t feel too cold(≧▽≦)
Another day of fun dives♪ We went to see the Giant cuttlefishes☆ Eight of them were busily courting one other, changing colors to blend in and out of the background(*^▽^*)

Like this cuttlefish blending into the reef♪

This cuttlefish was angry all the time (;・∀・)

Under a rock we saw a Whitetip reef shark☆

A school of Glassfish had gathered around this rock☆

A Scorpionfish♪

And a Stonefish♪♪ Making a sad smiley in the sand (;・∀・)

Of course, we also saw many shrimps(`・ω・´) Below, a Durban dancing shrimp

A Pacific cleaner shrimp♪

Cleaner shrimps♪

And also Nudibranch (≧▽≦)

Another day of relaxed diving☆ Looking forward to another warm winter day of diving tomorrow☆

Clear Sky♪ and Manta Rays in Osaki☆

Gentle winds and clear sky in Ishigaki island today(≧▽≦)
We went out for fun dives in Osaki and Nagura area☆ In Osaki, we went looking for turtles when a Manta ray suddenly appeared\(゜ロ\)(/ロ゜)/
It swam very close by♪

We also found the turtles♡

In Nagura, we enjoyed the lively corals☆

We saw many different types of corals♪ and of course my favorite shrimps☆

The Cuttlefish Season is Still Not Over in Nagura Bay

Another good day in Ishigaki island(≧▽≦) I just wish we had a bit more sun… Today we went out for 3 dives! We saw many different marine animals on, and buried in, the sandy soils of Osaki area(*^▽^*)
A big flock of Garden eels were pocking their heads up

We also saw many Goby varieties♪♪
Below, a White-ray shrimp goby☆

A sole had smoothly buried itself in sand♪♪ Can you see it? Its body is covering the whole picture♪ It will probably rest until the evening(;^ω^)

In both the deeper and shallower parts of the reef we found Pipe horses☆
There were many bigger individuals at the deeper area, but the small ones were hiding in the shallows(*^▽^*)

And we got to see a Green turtle today☆ It was working very hard to scrub and clean its shell(≧▽≦)

Yesterday, we only saw one Giant cuttlefish in Nagura and I thought the season might already be be over. However, today there were seven of them! A male was chasing after a female and at the same time he tried to scare off the other males… so much excitment\(^o^)/

Nearby, some Bigfin reef squids were also mating with drama(;・∀・) They move so quickly compared to the Giant cuttlefishes.

Lots of Blue green damselfishes lives inside the corals and are always quick to take shelter between the cracks, I wonder how they feel about the cuttlefishes laying eggs into their home(;・∀・)

There were also many Nudibranch and Flatworms☆

A pair of Anemone shrimps♪♪
