Long time no seen!

The wind blew gently from the north and the sea around Ishigaki island was calm today(≧▽≦) A friend I last met over 8 years ago came to visit Ishigaki and dived with me☆☆
We departed for Osaki and Nagura for fun dives♪♪ I wonder if some other shop has been feeding the Batfishes at Mash 1, they really swam towards us today(;・∀・)

Lots of beautiful healthy corals in Nagura(*^▽^*)

Lots of blue-green damselfishes swam in small schools over the corals, they hide quickly if you approach(;^ω^)

In Osaki, this green sea turtle was having a nap comfortably on the rocks♪♪ Before, the other day we saw giant cuttlefishes here but some irresponsible guide from another shop must have scared them because we only saw one fleeing in the distance!

Lots of spotted garden eels poked their small heads up from the sand☆

An anemone partner shrimp☆・・

Many travel restrictions in place right now, but Ishigaki’s turqoise ocean isn’t going anywhere~\(^o^)/

Clear sky! Ishigaki fun dives

Clear sky over Ishigaki island(≧▽≦) Today, we went diving in Osaki and Nagura area with our guest from yesterday♪
The corals in Nagura are SO beautiful, I will never get tired of diving here(*´▽`*)

A school of small fishes.

This brown-banded pipefish approached us slowly… usually, they are quite shy so I wonder why (;・∀・)

A Durban dancing shrimp was swaying about☆

A big anemone shrimp.

We also found this tiny cute nudibranch♪ It’s small but the feelers are big ~(≧▽≦)

We’ll go out for more fun dives tomorrow again♪Looking forward to it!

Dance of the giant cuttlefishes

Clear sky over Ishigaki island today☆ We went for fun dives in Osaki area♪
Sooo many giant cuttlefishes!! (≧▽≦) Lots of courting and different dramas going on!

Below, a female laying eggs inside the coral♪♪ Once they find a place they like, they will lay many eggs around the same area☆

Close by another male was changing colors and trying to look threatening♪

We also found this big turtle sleeping♡

A flatworm hanging between the rocks… looking very strange(;´・ω・)

Tiny nudibranch moving over the sand♪♪

I feel like I’ve seen the same frost nudibranch around this area several times, maybe I’m imagining it(;・∀・)

A long pipefish☆

We’ll continue the fun dives tomorrow with our guest from today♪♪ Looking forward to some deep dives☆

Boat maintenance finished, time for fun dives!

A strong north wind is blowing over Ishigaki island and it’s gotten cold again(>_<) Still had a fun time diving in Osaki area☆
Sadly, our guest had problems equalizing and could only do one dive. Luckily we had good visibility and lots of marine life on our first try(≧▽≦) Just look at this super cute white Nudibranch!♡ I think it was my first time seeing this species.

We see the nudibranch below quite often, it’s quite big and stands out from the sand with bright colors♪

A big flatworm☆

This lionfish was hanging out close to an anemone♪I almost missed it(;^ω^)

A big banded sea snake was searching for something in the sand(゚Д゚;)

We by this stonefish too, usually, they are better hidden but this one was feeling lazy today I guess.

More fun dives tomorrow♪ The weather forecast looks better but it will continue to be chilly on Ishigaki island a few more days(>_<)

First dives after our winter holiday

The wind blew gently and the sea was calm around Ishigaki island today(≧▽≦) We’re just back after our winter holidays and full of energy! Sadly, both flights and travel plans have been canceled for many because of the coronavirus and the island is pretty quiet even for low season (>_<)
But today we went diving in Osaki and Nagura♪♪ Beautiful corals!

In Osaki, we met a green sea turtle that was so busy eating that it didn’t see us at all (;^ω^)

We also saw giant cuttlefishes\(^o^)/

This scorpionfish was hiding under a rock♪It was looking back at us with big eyes (*’ω’*)

We also saw some cute shrimps☆ Below, a squat shrimp.

And this is an anemone shrimp.

Also found some bubble coral shrimps☆

I hope the virus will get under control soon. This is too sad for so many people that get sick or have their travel plans destroyed (-_-メ)
For now, we’ll bring the boat up for regular maintenance next week and, with a bit of luck, the weather will be good!
