Fun Dives!

A gentle wind and both surface and water temperature were just right in Ishigaki island today(≧▽≦) We were very happy to have a guest on the boat today♪♪ He just finished his open water so equipment setup was perfect☆ We went out for 3 dives\(^o^)/

We departed for manta point with high expectations but no manta rays there today(/ω\) I hope we can meet them again soon(;^ω^) The corals at Yonehara were very beautiful♪♪ Lots of small fishes swam around us☆

Sadly, the visibility at Arakawa wasn’t the best (;´・ω・) Maybe we’ll need to wait for a typhoon to clear this silt up after the rainy season(;・∀・)

A leafy scropionfish♪

Tiny bubble coral shrimp (*´▽`*)

And colorful nudibranchs (*´▽`*)

Ishigaki’s summer season has just started!!! I hope we can go diving a lot more soon.

First dives after COVID-19 emergency declaration lifted

We went out for diving with guests for the first time in forever today!
So grateful to the two divers that decided to come down and visit Ishigaki Island and dive with us. We went for fun dives in Yonehara and at Manta scramble.
Because of the heavy rain accompanied by rumbling thunder yesterday, the visibility wasn’t on top but it was still very beautiful. The corals at Yonehara never disappoint. \(^o^)/

Lots of Sea Goldies swimming on top of the rocks(*´▽`*) The colors are amazing, especially at the shallower parts of the reef♪♪

Two Giant moray eels hiding in the same hole (;^ω^)

Of course, we also went to Manta point! First we did a dive at Manta Scramble and then at Manta City(≧▽≦) but despite high expectations, the manta rays didn’t show up(/ω\) double punch((+_+)) At least the green sea turtles were there to greet us☆

I felt disappointed that the manta rays didn’t show up today, but we still had some great dives enjoying the landscape. I hope they will show up the next time! The season has just started, looking forward to go diving again♪

We are Open Again!

It’s still rainy season in Ishigaki island, but it’s also very hot and sunny between the downpours(≧▽≦)

From June 1st we are welcoming divers again!
I think it will take a long time before life can go back to normal and we don’t know what the future will look like. We hope that people will come to visit this beautiful island and ocean again.

Some of you might be concerned about coming because of the coronavirus. This is understandable, we at Viking Scuba have new guidelines in place and will do our best to sanitize equipment and facilities so that you can dive with peace of mind.
If you are wondering about what procedures we have in place, just send us an email. Looking forward to go diving ^____^
